Beverly and Ed invite you join in a special Fire Ceremony to connect with your personal "Apu."
The "apus," in the cosmology of the Andes, are the mountain spirits that represent the energy of an area. They call us to live where we live, and what we experience there is attributed to them. They are said to be our connection to the upper world of spirit.
There are local Apus like Mt Tabor, regional ones like Wy'east (Mt Hood) and the great global Apus like Fuji, Ausangate, Denali and Everest. The Apus tell us much about ourselves, and our "Itu Apu," or birth mountain, tells us much about the belief systems we adopt at a very young age. Occasionally an Apu is not a mountain, but a great nature spirit that defines an area, like an ocean, lake or river.
To know and be in right relationship with your personal Apus can be a powerful portal to your personal guidance and path.
We'll offer the Rite of the Wisdom Keepers at this fire, along with whatever Rite is next on your Munay-Ki journey.
We hope you'll join us at 329 SE 79th St, Portland, where Lillian, Leslie and Mollie have lovingly offered their yard for the ceremony. It's almost across the street from Ahahra, 1/2 block from Stark St.
A donation of $10 is requested. In cases of extreme financial hardship, please inquire about sliding scale.
