Couples massage takes place in the Studio at Ahahra. Amy and Hannah create this space to suit your needs, whether you're looking for a romantic experience on your anniversary or are best friends treating yourselves "just because". Couples massage is an option that can be enjoyed by any two people, not just those who are romantically involved. It is a great way to introduce a partner who has never gotten massage before in a way that makes them feel more comfortable. You will be lying side by side on seperate tables in the same space, each being massaged by your own therapist.

It is the body’s nature to heal itself. The goal of intuitive massage is to assist with that process by holding the space for the healing to occur and then trusting in the body’s wisdom and timing. Your intention to heal is all that is needed to initiate the shift towards wholeness and well-being. The techniques used, which include Swedish Massage, Reiki, Shamballa Multi-Dimensional Healing, and Polarity Therapy, serve to quiet the mind and open the body, allowing the vital energy that is ever present to flow freely without resistance. The work is soothing and relaxing, yet can also go deep, responding in each moment to your body’s unique needs. Rather than trying to force your body into a different state of being and meeting further resistance, your body is gently invited to release patterns of tension. This naturally results in physical benefits such as increased range of motion, decreased pain & stress, as well as an increased feeling of lightness, mental clarity and spiritual connection.

During a session, Amy facilitates the movement of your energy through gentle rocking and/or vigorous shaking of the entire body. This “shaking medicine” is a form of Shamanic Healing which helps to dislodge stuck energies that have embedded in the body’s cellular structure. Clients are encouraged to verbalize the emotions that rise to the surface and are supported in processing them during and after the session. Because the movement breaks down resistance to the free flow of life force energy that naturally moves through the body and mind, you will leave this session feeling invigorated, clear headed, and high vibrational.

The ultimate treat for your mind, body, and spirit.

As Amy and Hannah massage you side by side, synchronizing their movements into a flowing dance of relaxing strokes, you enter another world. During a session with a single therapist, your mind often wants to follow the strokes, making sense of what is going on as it's happening. With four hands massaging you at once, your mind can no longer keep track of everything that is going on so it simply lets go of control and allows you to fall into a meditative state. Our clients have described this experience as "mystical" and said : "I couldn't tell if there were four hands on me or twelve", and "it was like being worked on by two angels". This is a powerful treatment for anyone who has a hard time letting go of thoughts and mental chatter, including people dealing with anxiety and depression. In addition to relaxed muscles, you will emerge from this session with a profound sense of mental clarity and deep inner peace.

The purpose of Four Handed Massage is relaxation and spiritual connection, so it is not appropriate if you're looking for isolated clinical bodywork for specific injury or strain. This would be better served with an individual therapist session.
